The Gameda floral design school is owned and run by Gail Wessels who has a deep passion for flowers, colour, all things growing and especially design.

Gail studied floral design in Knightsbridge, London, U.K. at the Judith Blacklock flower school. Gail goes back regularly to London for refresher courses so as to update he skills and to learn the latest trends and techniques used in Europe.

When Gail’s daughter got married, the flowers for the wedding took up a large cut of the wedding budget and turned out a near disaster when the end product was not at all what was ordered or what they had envisaged. The idea for a school was born! Why not teach people (eg.the bride and the mother of the bride) to create their own flowers in a simple and easy way, saving thousands and leaving them with a skill for life!

Gail found that working with flowers was extremely therapeutic and relaxing! And helped her through the most difficult time of her life, after loosing the love of her life, her soul mate, her best friend and husband to Cancer. Flowers give off a positive vibe and it is as though it is meant to be NATURES healer! That is why we give a bunch of flowers to cheer someone up when they are ill, sad or MAD(especially by husbands) and you must admit, it really WORKS!

For the price of a flower bouquet, you can learn the skills to make many bouquets! And share the wonderful therapeutic, fun and relaxing aspects of working with flowers.

The courses and workshops are designed for beginners, no previous experience is needed. You will be taught all you need to know, step-by-step in an informal, fun, relaxing atmosphere.

All materials, flowers, containers and accessories required are included in the course price, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy!  It's BLOOMING FUN!!!
